West Route Excursion

Our West Route excursion has been designed to show those taking part some of the ancient historical sites going back to 2500 BC, in addition to some of the most interesting cultural areas of Cornwall and parts of the most beautiful and dramatic cliff scenery in the world.

The excursion starts from Mullion and goes  West to Penzance where we visit Penlee House, providing an overview of West Cornwall's heritage and some information about the forthcoming sights we will see during the trip.

From Penzance we travel onto the high moor behind Penzance and visit ancient sites which include the Men an Tol and Lanyon Quoit

The trip then takes us further past Lands End to Porthcurno where a visit to the Minack Theatre is planned and where we will have lunch whilst investigating the incredible man-made theatre, cut literally out of the cliff face.

On leaving the Minack we travel back passing other ancient sites including the Standing Stones, through the villages of Mousehole and Newlyn, to St. Michael's Mount where we spend time viewing the castle with its very interesting history which goes back many centuries.
